Island Inspection Services has a subsidarary called Hawaii Environmental which was begun to provide a full range of environmental and consultation services for the state of Hawaii. We have worked with numerous real estate companies, banks, insurance companies, investors, contractors, developers and governmental agencies on all the major islands and take pride in our timely, accurate and thorough reports. To help protect our clients and their agents, our Errors and Omissions Insurance Policy covers both our clients and the agents who refer them.

We realize that turn-around time is very important and will provide free consultation to help clients and their agents determine their exact inspection needs. We submit to the clients our final written report before the due diligence period to allow for further review and consultation with the inspector.

Hawaii Environmental adheres to the ASTM Standard E 1527-05. The ESA objectives is to characterize the environmental setting of the subject property, identify obvious activity of environmental concern that may have occurred at or near the site, and to evaluate potential migration pathways for identified contaminants. The goal is to identify recognized environmental conditions that indicate an existing release, past release, or a material threat of a release of any hazardous substances or petroleum products. These release conditions apply to structures on the property as well as the soil, groundwater, or surface water of the property. An ESA "appropriate inquiry" may provide a basis to qualify for the innocent landowner defense should any legal action be initiated for environmental impairment to the property.

Our primary commercial inspector, Christopher Rither, has been working in Hawaii since 1986, and has over 30 years experience in the construction, inspection, environmental and building repair industry. He founded Island Inspection Services in 1998, and has performed numerous inspections in the residential, commercial, environmental, banking, mortgage, and insurance industries. Hawaii Environmental was started in late 2005 to help service Hawaii's environmental field. For larger projects, IIS and HE will network with other professionals and building experts to help provide ADA and code compliance reports, engineering reports etc. Island Inspection Services is pleased to provide services for those who desire to live, work and invest in our beautiful islands.
